Akola is one of the largest cities in the state of Maharashtra. There are Gavilgad ranges in the northern part of the district. The city is also home to several rivers and lakes that tourists like to go for sightseeing. It covers 5,428 square kilometres with a tropical climate having hot summers and the highest rainfall in July. Akola has an estimated population of 5,37,100 with coordinates of 20.7096° N 76.9981° E.
