Muzaffarnagar is a leading city within the District of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. It lies along the Delhi-Dehradun/Haridwar National Highway while also linking with the railway network. It is also called as the Sugar Bowl of the State. It was earlier known as Sarwat and lies within the fertile and lush Upper Ganga-Yamuna-Doab Region. It lies near Saharanpur and New Delhi and is one of the State’s most developed cities within the Saharanpur Division. The city is also within the DMIC (Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor) and the ADKIC (Amritsar-Delhi-Kolkata Industrial Corridor). It also has a shared border with the Indian State of Uttarakhand.
