Dhalai is a leading administrative district within the Indian State of Tripura. The headquarters of the district lie in Ambassa. In 2011, it was the lowest-populated district in the State. It was founded in 1995 and the Lok Sabha Constituency is Tripura East. The total area is 2,312.29 square kilometres with a population of 378,000 as of 2011. The district of Dhalai was built in 1995 through the sub-division of the North and South Tripura Districts. The name of the district comes from the Dhalai River. The key attractions include the Longtharai Mandir, Dumboor Lake, and the Waterfalls of Setrai. The Dhalai coordinates are 23.8467° N, 91.9099° E.
