Serchhip, one of the smallest districts of Mizoram, is located in the Mizoram district. It is the headquarters town in the central part of Mizoram. It is almost 112km from Mizoram, the capital of Aizwal. In the former Serchhip village, the town area includes the new Serchhip and the Chhiahtlang village.
In 2011, 64,875 population, there are 32,824 male and 32,051 female. Its total area is almost 1421 square kilometres. Champhai District joins the district towards the east, with Aizawl on the northern side and northwest with Lunglei District on the South. The district has three subdivisions, with two rural development blocks: East Lungdar RD and Serchhip. There are a total of 42 villages in this district.
The place is spread over 1421 square kilometres, with 40 villages and 3 notified towns. In these, there are mostly English and Mizo-speaking people.
