Supaul is the town and a municipality with the headquarter of Supaul district in Bihar. Previously, it was a part of Saharsa district of Mithila Region. Supaul is also the administrative headquarter of this district. It covers the total area of 2410 sq km with the coordinates of 26.126°N 86.605°E. The climate of Supaul belongs moderate climate so the wet season is hot, oppressive while the dry season is warm and mostly clear. It had the population of 2,228,397 of which male and female were 1,157,815 and 1,070,582. The official language of Supaul is Hindi but the regional language is Maithili.
