Jalandhar Jalandhar is the third-highest populated city in Punjab and lies along the Grand Trunk Road, approximately 146 km away from Chandigarh and 83.5 km away from the city of Amritsar. The Jalandhar District has a chequered history of its own, covering 110 square kilometres in total and with a population estimated at 1,096,000 people in 2011.
