Jamshedpur is a leading industrial city in the Indian State of Jharkhand. It is one of the cleanest cities in the country and was ranked as such in 2019. It was founded by the iconic founder of the Tata Group, Jamsetji Tata. It was founded in the year 1919 and is known for its well-planned layouts. It is the administrative headquarters for the District of East Singhbhum. It is also synonymous with the steel plant whose construction started in 1908 along with the rest of the city. Jamshedpur has three municipal corporations while Tata Motors was established here in 1945. The total area of Jamshedpur is 224 square kilometres while the population of the city stood at 629,659 people as of the year 2011. The languages spoken here include Hindi, Bengali, Nagpuri, Santhali, Urdu, Odia, Magahi, Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu and Kurmali. The Jamshedpur coordinates are 22°47′33″N 86°11′03″E.
