The western section of Chennai, India is known as Nandambakkam. The Tamil Nadu government added Nandambakkam to the Chennai district in 2011. 13 kilometres to the southwest of Chennai, on the Mount-Poonamallee Road, is where Nandambakkam is located. Nandambakkam's population was 9093 as of the 2001 India Census. 49 percent of people are female and 51 percent are male. Male literacy is 85% and female literacy is 77%, putting Nandambakkam's average literacy rate above the national average of 59.5% at 81%. 10% of people in Nandambakkam are younger than six years old. Along with Gandhi Nagar and Ramapuram, this neighbourhood is close to Ekkaduthangal.The Chennai Trade Centre, the first fair facility for the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) outside of Delhi, was opened in Nandambakkam in January 2001. The location is one of Tamil Nadu's 163 megalithic sites that have been notified. The first Metro line in Chennai that travels to Nandambakkam is the GREEN LINE. The nearby transportation choices include the Guindy Bus Stand, Guindy Railway Station, St. Thomas Mount Railway Station, Ekkattuthangal Metro Station, and Alandur Metro Station.
