Mohali is officially called Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar and is a planned city in the District of Mohali in Punjab. It is also a major commercial and administrative hub towards the southwest of Chandigarh. It is also the headquarters to the District of Mohali and one of the six municipal corporations in the State as well. Mohali has become a major IT and ITeS hub in the State of Punjab. The city was once within the District of Rupnagar and became a separate one only in the year 2006. The total area of Mohali is 176.17 square kilometers while the population was estimated at 176,152 people as of the year 2011. The coordinates of Mohali are 30.699°N 76.693°E.
