Phaltan is a municipal council, a town, and a tehsil in the Satara district of Maharashtra. The city of Satara is about 59 kilometres southwest of Phaltan and about 110km from the city of Pune. With 17.98°N 74.43°E coordinates, this town is located at an elevation of 568 m and spread over a surface area of 10.28 km2. Some of the most commonly spoken languages here include Hindi, although the official language is Marathi.
Infrastructure and Details
Although Phaltan does not have an airport of its own, it is quite possible to reach here by air. All you have to do is find the nearest airport, which in this case is Pune’s International Airport. However, there are much better ways you can get to Phaltan, especially by train. There is one train from Dadar to Nira, which goes once a day, and the journey takes about 5 hours and 26 minutes.
The corporate industry in Phaltan has also seen great improvement over the years, with some of the biggest and most common names being Leaf-Spring Manufacturers LTD., Ajit Engineering company, and Venkatesh Agro-Processing Company.
Some of the most famous schools in Phaltan include names like Ideal Kids International School and Junior College, Shreemant Shivajiraje English Medium, and Vishwajyot International School. However, if you are looking for higher studies, you will be more interested in the colleges here like Mudhoji College, Phaltan Law College, and College of Agriculture.
