Mira-Bhayandar, a city in the Thane district in Maharashtra, is located in the northern area of Salsette Island ahead of Vasai Creek. Its adjoining border is North Mumbai. It has a population of 814,655 (2011 Census) and as a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, it covers an area of around 79.4 km2. Its geographical coordinates are 19.29°N and 72.85°E.
