Koregaon Bhima is a small residential colony located in the Pune District of Maharashtra in India. The city is a Panchayat town and is often identified as a village. The town shares huge historical importance due to the famous Bhima Koregaon battle of 1818. The battle was a huge influence on the Scheduled Castes of India. The war resulted in the win of the Dalits and was fought between the British East India Company and the Peshwas of the Maratha Confederacy. Koregaon Bhima is situated around 10 km away along State Highway 60 and offers excellent connectivity to nearby major cities such as Pune, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, and Baramati.
