Nadia is a district within West Bengal and borders North-24 Parganas and Hooghly along with districts like Murshidabad and Purba Bardhaman. It also has a border with Bangladesh while having a rich and chequered history of its own. It was one of the last few Bengal regions governed by the Sena ruling Dynasty. The headquarters of the district are situated at Krishnanagar. The total area of Nadia is 3,927 square kilometres with the population estimated at 5,167,601 people as of the year 2011. The coordinates of Nadia are 23.4710° N, 88.5565° E. Infrastructure and Details There are many reputed educational institutions here including the Convent of Jesus and Mary High School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Julien Day School, Global Institute of Management and Technology, Dolphin School of Hotel Management, and the Ideal Institute of Engineering. Leading hospitals here include the College of Medicine and JNM Hospital, Hiramani Memorial Hospital and Diagnostic Centre and Nursing Home, Guru Gopinath Hospital, and others. The Bishnupriya Station is also located nearby while there are other railway stations as well throughout the district.
