Mumbai and Pune have emerged as the driving forces behind India's residential real estate surge, capturing over half of the nation's new supply and sales.

Mumbai and Pune have jointly accounted for an impressive 60 per cent of total property sales in top eight cities in the second quarter of 2023.

The residential market in Pune has come a long way since it was known as a “Pensioner’s Paradise”, the epithet supported by a tranquil environment, pleasant climate, and the city’s historical association with being a preferred retirement destination.

Property sales in both Mumbai and Pune grew at the fastest pace of 26 per cent YoY each amongst the top eight cities, in the first half of 2023. Both these cities together account for 60 per cent share in the total 1.66 lakh units sold in H1 2023.
